Meet Werner Eberhardt, General Manager Connected Health SAP

by Gregg A. Masters, MPH

As noted in the introductory post ‘SAP and Precision or Personalized Medicine‘, SAP Health and Life Sciences has made a substantial commitment to the emerging precision and personalized medicine ecosystem via its connected health group.

In this video interview I chat with Dr. Werner Eberhardt, General Manager Connected Health, SAP. Dr. Eberhardt details SAP’s vision for the connected health ecosystem and the value added role SAP plays enabling the vision of personalized medicine. The interview was recorded at SAPPHIRE held annually in Orlando, Florida – a massive gathering of SAP’s ecosystem partners.

A high level description is:

SAP Connected Health platform serves as a platform for personalized-medicine applications by enabling the processing and real-time analysis of big medical data from various sources, in a single system. The platform provides a common database schema, functional libraries, and algorithms for diverse health-associated applications built on top of it. In addition, the platform provides user interfaces for monitoring and administering various aspects of the platform, such as data integration and the clinical data warehouse, as well as end-user applications that provide standard features used separately or together with applications built on top of the platform.

Next up is my chat with Kevin Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) subsidiary CancerLinQ.
